I think that my basic idea that i will use as the running theme for this video will be the concept of state of mind. I want the visual to feel surreal and mesmerising, a flash back from the vocal. Due to the track describing the state of Peter's dying lover I'm going to make the images represent a dream that he is having about her, of her without the disease with a huge sense of freedom and memories which have not yet been murdered by the illness. As I described when analysing the videos from Bon Iver etc, I want to achieve a great sense of movement and energy in the visuals with loads of representative contrasts that can relate to the feelings within the lyrics. These could be night and day, realism and surrealism, life and death to compliment the idea of dreaming. I want the audience to use their imagination to decide what is deemed as 'real' and what isn't and the images will hopefully each promote a feeling to the viewer through the story. I don't want there to be a particular event that happens in the video, not a story of anyone or any event, I just want it simply to try and replicate what Peter's dream could be if he closed his eyes and listened to this song himself.
Within the editing I really love the effects that are used in the Lightning Dust video, the use of distorting images through light glaring off the lens and using overlaying colour to add surrealism to the visual.
